Team 2876: Red Devils Robotics

Welcome to the Burlington High School Robotics team! The Burlington High School Red Devil Robotics Club is a diverse group of students from Burlington High School who are working together to design, build, and program robots, work collectively as a team, learn how to effectively and efficiently use a wide variety of tools on a range of materials, learn buisiness management skills, and most importantly HAVE FUN!

We are entering our sixth year of the FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition), a GLOBAL scale competition. Each year we go to the Boston University regional at the Agganis Arena and have no intentions of leaving this competition at any time.

Ranging from freshmen to seniors, we are lucky to have such a dedicated group of students instructed by dedicated mentors from all of our generous sponsors.

How it works

Every FRC Robotics team has exactly 6 weeks to design, build, test a robot to match the annual competitive game. It requires teamwork skills, business skills and common sense. It takes a lot of effort and commitment but in the end it is worth it to see your robot competing against other robots from around the world.

Last Year's Game

Last year's game's goal was to hang as many inflatable rings on different pegs on different highs in 2 minutes. If you formed the first logo you recieved bonus points. To get tubes you would get them from a feeding hole on the other side of the field, have a thrower toss tubes to your robot, or pick them up off the ground.

Our History

Two years ago, we entered the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) in hopes of building the foundation of our small, but growing, robotics team. FRC is a robotics competition in which many countries participate and compete with gracious professionalism. As the FRC season started in January, the team kicked into top gear. Every day was a commitment to meet the deadline. During last year’s competition, we competed against 53 other robotics teams.  We won some and we lost some but it’s the journey we took, the knowledge that we gained, the friends we made, and the fun we had that counts.

In the Past

We also have participated in competitions that include FTC, Science Olympiad, and the VEX Bridge Battle. We came in second and got an award for most versatile at the Boston University Vex Bridge Battle Competition in 2008. Although we have committed to the FRC, we may do other competitions duing post season.
